Mark Fisher with Hillside Castings in Ohio creates intricate integral color countertop design using concrete pigment and concrete overlay. “The top and base was cast in white concrete and colored with Direct Colors Cake Buff (609-3lb.) concrete pigment. After the appropriate dry time, top portion was stripped from the mold and the recessed hieroglyphs filled with a concrete overlay mixed with Direct Colors Café (649-3lb). 24 hours later, the top was wet polished with a grinder to an 800-grit finish and sealed with Krystal Kote Water Based Sealer.”
Integrally coloring concrete is easy and can be the beginning or end point where color is concerned. Concrete countertops can be integrally colored as well as acid stained using one of our liquid or gel acid stains. Check out this poolside countertop post for more information has how to use different color techniques.
Direct Colors offers concrete pigment color packs matching each of the colors on our color charts or you can measure yourself using our project calculators for a specific concrete product and batch size.
