Day 3: That Special Acid Stained Look
That Special Acid Stained Look for Countertops
The Unique Texture, Color and Finish of Concrete Acid Stain
Coffee Brown is one of our most popular floor and countertop colors. Acid stain creates a unique texture and finish that can’t be achieved by other means. Coffee Brown like all of our acid stains can be diluted with water for lighter brown colors. Different acid stain colors can also be used together more even more variety.
For best results on an excessively smooth surface, sand the countertop with a 400-grit pad before acid staining. Pre-cast counters poured on melamine board can sometimes be too smooth to stain successfully. Mechanically or chemically profiling the surface will increase penetration and color development. Sealing a countertop correctly is critical for longevity and durability. Select from our line of countertop sealers based on gloss preference and odor concerns. Link C. of Decocrete in Shawnee, OK has selected a 100% Epoxy Countertop Sealer with a 500 Solvent Based Polyurethane for maximum gloss and color depth. Alternatively, water based sealers are a low odor glossy or matte finish products more appropriately used indoors where odor may be an issue. Solvent based sealers are generally more glossy and have a strong chemical odor during application.
Like the high gloss look? Why not try one of our new metallic epoxy colors for a bit more pizzazz and shine?
