*Shipping is free for all orders over $25 shipped within the contiguous United States, except for orders of concrete overlay and/or concrete countertop mix. Shipping charges for these items will be accessed and added to the total cost of the order before shipping. Accessorial services requested for freight shipments will also be billed. These include, but are not limited to, Residential Fees, Liftgate Fees, and Notification Fees. (Free Shipping excludes Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and other US Territories). Because we offer this discount, we reserve the right to ship the packages by the least expensive and reliable means possible. This includes shipments by an 18-wheel tractor-trailer. If you are unable to receive shipments via tractor-trailer, you may be required to pay the difference between the freight and ground shipping quotes.
Customers from Canada, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico must place their order by phone. In most cases, only ground shipments to Canada will be allowed. Many of our products cannot ship via air transport, so please verify the receiving destination is accessible via ground transport. Shipping charges will be assessed at the time of order. Canadian customers can expect to pay additional duties charges and taxes as well.
Most orders weighing less than a combined 250 lbs. placed by 2 pm CST, M-F are shipped on the same day. Orders over 250 pounds may be shipped by freight and unless placed before 11 am CST, cannot be shipped the same day. Orders placed after 2pm CST will be shipped the next business day. The majority of orders will be shipped via UPS Ground Service or US Postal Service. Decisions regarding ground and freight carrier options are made at Direct Colors’ discretion.
All customer shipping information must be correct when online and phone orders are placed. Direct Colors will assess a per package fee – based on amount charged by carrier, for address changes after orders have left our facility. An email with tracking numbers for each package will be sent to the customer when the package is shipped.
Example: An order is placed in Miami, FL at 7:00 pm on a Thursday. The order shipped by UPS the next day (Friday) and will be in transit Monday, Tuesday, and arriving sometime on Wednesday depending on weather conditions and the carrier selected.
Additional Charges for Freight Shipments: Typically, orders with a combined weight of over 200 lbs. will be shipped by freight and are handled differently. This requires an 18-wheeler delivery truck, and there will be additional charges for residential/home delivery and other special services. Special freight handling such as Residential Delivery, Delivery Notification or Lift-Gate Services will be billed to the customer.
Package Damage or Loss: Damage to packages, although a rare occurrence, does happen. Direct Colors Inc. provides the claims resolution service when damage occurs. Re-shipment will occur as soon as a final determination by the shipping company is made. While we make every effort to see that packages are delivered in a timely manner, we have no control over the shipment after it leaves our facility. Tracking numbers are provided by email to allow customers the opportunity to follow the progress of their packages online. Direct Colors Inc. is not liable for packages stolen after delivery.
5-Gallon Containers of Acid Stain Shipped by Ground Service: 5 gallon containers of acid stain require a signature when delivered due to the product’s hazardous nature. The product will not be left at the door without a signature. Arrangements must be made to be present for delivery. Water-based products, such as DCI Water-based Sealer and DCI Floor Polish/Wax, should not be allowed to freeze during the winter. Sealers and waxes do not require a signature at the time of delivery. Please notify us at the time of purchase if special delivery arrangements will need to be made.
