After their home was flooded by Hurricane Ian, the homeowners needed a new flooring solution that was cost-effective, durable, and aesthetically pleasing. They considered options such as wall-to-wall tile, but ultimately decided on concrete staining as the best option for their needs. They chose Seagrass and Black as a tribute to the ocean waters that had washed through their property. The staining process required some effort and learning new skills, but the end result was worth it.

The homeowners were able to transform their home into a place that was even better than before, and they were grateful for the support and guidance provided by Direct Colors. They learned that thorough prep work and patience are key to achieving good results with concrete staining, and they used AcquaSeal sealer to protect their newly-stained floors.

Transforming a Concrete Bathroom Floor with a Overlay and Coffee Brown and Malayan Buff Stains

This project involves staining a concrete floor using two different colors: Coffee Brown and Malayan Buff. Before staining, a concrete overlay was applied to smooth out the surface of the floor. The Coffee Brown color was applied in four different ratios: 2-1, 5-1, 8-1, and 10-1. The Malayan Buff color was applied in a 10-1 ratio as a final layer over the entire floor. The staining process involved applying the colors while the floor was still wet. The end result was reportedly far better than the homeowner had imagined, thanks to helpful advice from consultants at Direct Colors!
