The savvy experts over at the Concrete Countertop Institute recently introduced their students to our colored concrete pigments. “Direct Colors pigments, especially the blue, have proved to be very intense and vibrant. Other pigments tend to look nice in the bottle but then fail to provide a rich color in the concrete. Direct Colors pigments look fantastic in concrete even at low concentrations. I’m very impressed.”
Jeff, an instructor at the Institute, walked the students through the essentials for success including accurate pigment measurement before mixing, folding the pigment into the concrete dry before adding liquid, thorough and slow mixing of the material and getting the right consistency for the application. Jeff’s class is spraying the slurry mix through a hopper gun for a finer color finish. Jeff also did a blue vessel sink demo using our pigments at the World of Concrete CTS Rapid Set booth this January. He had this to say about the 15.4 Blue Concrete Pigment, “Wow, that’s some blue GFRC! A shout out to Direct Colors for providing this excellent blue!”
Direct Colors offer five premium concrete pigments in blue, green, white and purple. Our premium concrete pigments are synthetic rather than a naturally occurring blend of iron oxide based colors. While a bit more expensive by comparison, they are perfect for countertops, planters, art and other small gray or white concrete projects.
